We Don't Guess at Your Performance Gaps. We Measure Them.
Motion capture. Force measurement. Real data. A training plan that targets the specific physical qualities holding you back — not a template built for the average athlete.

The Problem with Generic Training
Most athletes train hard. Few train specifically.
Without Testing
- Programs built on assumptions, not data
- Training everything when 2–3 gaps are holding you back
- Strength imbalances that go undetected and raise injury risk
- Progress that plateaus because the real limiters were never identified
With Testing
- Every training decision backed by your actual performance data
- Programming that targets your specific limiters — nothing wasted
- Imbalances identified and corrected, reducing the risk of injury
- Measurable progress tracked against your own baseline over time
The Technology
Two Systems. One Complete Picture.
The equipment used at Generations isn't gym hardware — it's the same force measurement and motion capture technology deployed by professional sports organizations and national performance programs.
Dual Force Plate System
ForceDecks
Force plates — provide insights into an athlete's strength, power, asymmetry, and more.
VALD ForceDecks are industry-leading dual force plates used by professional sports organizations, universities, and rehabilitation clinics around the world to objectively measure athletic performance by analyzing strength, force production, power, balance, stability, and limb asymmetries during a variety of dynamic, isometric, and balance tests. Testing with ForceDecks gives us objective data that allows us to identify performance limitations, monitor progress over time, and create individualized training programs.
What It Measures
- Jump Height
- Force
- Power
- Rate of Force Development (RFD)
- Reactive Strength Index (RSI)
- Impulse
- Velocity
- Asymmetry
And many more — we have access to hundreds of metrics across dynamic, isometric, and balance tests.
3D Motion Capture
HumanTrak
3D motion capture and biomechanical analysis — measures a range of single and multi joint movements showing exactly how your body moves.
VALD HumanTrak is an advanced, 3D movement analysis system that objectively assesses movement quality, mobility, and biomechanics. By capturing precise joint angles and movement patterns during a variety of functional tests, HumanTrak identifies mobility restrictions, movement compensations, and asymmetries that may impact performance. The results are available instantly, allowing us to make informed training decisions, track progress over time, and develop individualized programs tailored to each athlete's needs.
What It Measures
- Posture
- Balance
- Upper Body Range of Motion
- Lower Body Range of Motion
- Movement Quality
- Asymmetry
Precise tracking of 23 points on the body at all times across a full range of functional tests.
What Gets Tested
Two Pillars. One Complete Picture.
Testing is built on two pillars — performance tests that quantify power, strength, and explosiveness, and movement assessments that evaluate mobility, stability, and movement quality. Together they give a complete picture of the athlete.
Performance Tests
- Countermovement Jump (CMJ)Evaluates lower body power, explosiveness, and stretch shortening cycle efficiency. The most widely used force plate test — it produces a rich set of metrics that make it ideal for athlete profiling, monitoring fatigue and adaptation, and guiding return-to-play decisions.
- Squat Jump (SJ)Isolates the concentric phase of a jump to measure pure triple-extension power from a static position. By removing the countermovement, it reveals how much an athlete relies on eccentric loading and the stretch shortening cycle to produce force.
- Drop Jump (DJ)Evaluates reactive strength and stretch-shortening cycle capacity by measuring how quickly an athlete absorbs and redirects force on landing. Closely mirrors the repeated jumping and cutting demands of sport.
- Isometric Mid-Thigh Pull (IMTP)Measures maximal strength and how quickly an athlete can produce force, tested in a strong, sport-specific position. A safe, repeatable way to track raw strength and explosiveness over time.
- Isometric SquatMeasures maximal lower body strength and rate of force development from a fixed squat position. A safe, repeatable test for tracking strength gains and identifying left-to-right imbalances over time.
- Single Leg JumpMeasures single leg power and landing control while exposing left-to-right differences that two-legged tests can hide. A key marker for injury risk and return-to-sport readiness.
- Hop TestAssesses elastic and reactive qualities through repeated bilateral hops driven by the ankle and calf complex. A quick way to gauge lower-limb stiffness and how efficiently an athlete stores and returns energy.
- Balance TestingMeasures postural control, stability, and weight distribution during quiet standing and single leg tasks. Highlights left-to-right imbalances and is a valuable marker for injury risk and return-to-sport readiness.
Movement Assessments
- Posture AssessmentCaptures baseline postural alignment and identifies asymmetries or imbalances that can limit movement efficiency and contribute to injury over time.
- Squat AssessmentEvaluates whole-body movement quality through a functional squat, revealing how well the hips, knees, and ankles work together under load. A foundation for identifying mobility restrictions and compensation patterns.
- Overhead SquatChallenges mobility, stability, and coordination across the entire kinetic chain at once. Exposes limitations in the shoulders, spine, hips, and ankles that limit performance and increase injury risk.
- Single Leg SquatAssesses unilateral movement quality, balance, and lower-limb control while uncovering left-to-right differences that two-legged patterns can hide.
- Lunge AssessmentEvaluates lower body mobility, stability, and mechanics through a unilateral pattern that closely reflects the demands of running, cutting, and change of direction.
- Single Leg BalanceMeasures balance, proprioception, and postural control on one leg — a key indicator of stability, injury risk, and return-to-sport readiness.
- Shoulder MobilityMeasures shoulder range of motion and identifies restrictions that limit overhead performance and can contribute to shoulder and neck injuries.
- Hip MobilityEvaluates hip range of motion and movement quality — essential for powerful, efficient movement in nearly every sport and a major factor in reducing injury risk.
- Thoracic RotationAssesses rotational mobility through the upper back, a key driver of throwing, swinging, and rotational power as well as overall movement efficiency.
We have access to a wide range of additional tests — the full battery is tailored to each athlete’s sport, goals, and needs.
Who This Is For
If You Compete Seriously and Want to Know What's Actually Holding You Back
Testing is for athletes chasing real performance gains — the ones who want to train with intent, measure what matters, and turn hard work into measurable results on the field, court, or ice.
Youth High Performance Athletes
Competing at a high level and want measurable evidence of your physical profile before the next season, tryout, or training block.
High School Athletes in Recruitment
Know your combine numbers before scouts do. Show up to evaluations with data, not assumptions.
University & College Athletes
Sustain or improve performance across a demanding season by understanding exactly what your body needs.
Athletes Returning from Injury
Objective data on strength symmetry and movement quality — know where you actually stand, not where you feel you stand.
Coaches & Parents
Want more than a training opinion. Testing provides the objective baseline that makes every subsequent decision defensible.
The Process
From Test to Training Plan
Here's exactly what happens — from the moment you arrive to the plan you walk away with.
Get in Touch
Reach out to book your testing session. We'll confirm your booking, walk you through exactly what to expect, and show you how to prepare so you arrive ready to perform.
Arrive & Warm Up
You'll be taken through a structured, guided warm-up designed to prime your body for maximal output — so every number reflects your true performance, not a cold start.
